The boss finally got me a new chair last week. It is leather and has arm rests. I am climbing up the corporate ladder now. Prior to this, Sara and I were having a very polite, lady-like chair war between one perfectly good chair and one that had been broken by said boss’ kids and subsequently fixed by said boss. Barry knows books but apparently should not moonlight as an office furniture repairman. The chair forced your spine into a c-shape that was not condusive to desktopping if you know what I mean. And every once in a while, if you leaned back a little, it would crack and throw you for a couple of inches. Sara beat me to the office most mornings and would take “the good chair.” Then she would go home for the day and I would steal it back and so on. All without acknowledging to each other that we were engaged in this battle. And Del would just sit back and laugh, although he did come to my defense once because of the fact that I was arriving shortly after her and I’m here all day, every day. But the war is over and we’re still friends. And I got the new chair.
