Off to NEH

Posted by Sue on August 11th, 2006

Northeast Harbor, Maine on Mount Desert Island, home of Acadia National Park. For some lobster, steamers, crabmeat, boating, hiking, biking, fishing, sea glass and a little shopping. That about covers it for me. Maybe some popovers at Jordan Pond. I hope Del and Sara can hold down the fort. Maybe if they lay off the Twinkie projects!

Mystery solved

Posted by Sue on August 11th, 2006

As I was preparing my picture of the “missing piece.” I layered it on top of the puzzle picture in Photoshop and low and behold it aint the right piece. It’s the exact same color scheme but not the right shape. So it must have fallen out of my pocket or from somewhere on me and onto the kitchen floor. I’m no longer freaked out but still feeling a little ill after having some of the “Twinkie Project.” They were deepfried. piece1.jpg

The missing piece

O.K. this is totally freaking me out. Sara just found the missing piece from our tacky puzzle that has been missing for weeks, on the Barry’s kitchen floor. We were trying out some new Twinkie recipes. (See Del’s blog for more on that experiment) How strange. Unfortunately, I just picked up the puzzle and boxed it this morning. Hanging on the wall near where she found it are pictures with frames that the kids some puzzle pieces glued on to them. Could it have fallen off of Charlie’s frame? How could and where did they get the piece? The mystery lives on until the Kerrigans’ return. In the meantime, I’m freaking out and really feeling a little sick from the Twinkies. puzzlecrop1.jpg

My beverage of choice this summer

Posted by Sue on August 10th, 2006

is Glaceau vitamin water. When I say summer, I mean the last three weeks which is about how long our summers feel. Last year it was green tea because it’s supposed to aid in weight loss…’nough said. I got on this kick after hearing Kelly Clarkson on ET (yes, Entertainment Tonight…whatever) declare “I’m a vitamin water girl.” Not that she’s a spokesperson for health and fitness but I’m obviously easily influenced. I can never decide which concoction I need and when so I tend to mix it up a little each day. Del keeps accusing me of having spiked it whenever he thinks I’m having a blonde moment which is several times a day. At 125 calories and $1.50 a pop, I’m sure I’ll have to reassess the situation soon. In say 5 lbs or $500, whichever comes first.

  • Let’s touch base
  • Truth be told
  • With that said (frequently used by reallity show contestants when someone’s getting voted off the island or kicked out of the house)
  • At the end of the day (which if I’m not mistaken came out of the very first season of The Apprentice although I cannot be sure of it’s origination)
  • You’ll be glad you did (I think every local commercial contains this little gem of a statement)
Let’s keep this list going. I’ve only scratched the surface.
