Words of Wisdom

Posted by Sue on September 28th, 2006

If you ever allow a 3 year old to consume lots and lots of little pieces of candy while you’re waiting in the barbershop for a haircut, and then let him top it off with a ring pop when he’s done, 45 minutes after you get home, you’ll be confronted by a mini possessed Linda Blair straight out of The Exorcist complete with spinning head and evil voice spewing things at you and you will be very, very afraid. Trust me.

Girl’s Weekend 2006

Posted by Sue on September 27th, 2006

Just got back from the 3rd annual Girl’s Weekend near Lake George, NY with friends from high school, (some junior high) and some new ones. Stayed in a house on Sherman Lake, went to the dude ranch, did some shopping, gnoshing and happy houring with Don Eddy on the deck at Simple Simon’s, played some JENGA and finally, some boating and swimming (oh wait that wasn’t exactly swimming as much, as it was falling overboard, fully clothed, but I digress) It was a nice little break in the routine. We’ve been so busy here at DM, we haven’t had time to blog. Here’s a new batch of pics. kj-crop.jpg010_16a.jpg001_25a.jpgdkp.jpg006_20a.jpgls.jpg

Off to NEH

Posted by Sue on August 11th, 2006

Northeast Harbor, Maine on Mount Desert Island, home of Acadia National Park. For some lobster, steamers, crabmeat, boating, hiking, biking, fishing, sea glass and a little shopping. That about covers it for me. Maybe some popovers at Jordan Pond. I hope Del and Sara can hold down the fort. Maybe if they lay off the Twinkie projects!

Mystery solved

Posted by Sue on August 11th, 2006

As I was preparing my picture of the “missing piece.” I layered it on top of the puzzle picture in Photoshop and low and behold it aint the right piece. It’s the exact same color scheme but not the right shape. So it must have fallen out of my pocket or from somewhere on me and onto the kitchen floor. I’m no longer freaked out but still feeling a little ill after having some of the “Twinkie Project.” They were deepfried. piece1.jpg

The missing piece

Posted by Sue on August 11th, 2006

O.K. this is totally freaking me out. Sara just found the missing piece from our tacky puzzle that has been missing for weeks, on the Barry’s kitchen floor. We were trying out some new Twinkie recipes. (See Del’s blog for more on that experiment) How strange. Unfortunately, I just picked up the puzzle and boxed it this morning. Hanging on the wall near where she found it are pictures with frames that the kids some puzzle pieces glued on to them. Could it have fallen off of Charlie’s frame? How could and where did they get the piece? The mystery lives on until the Kerrigans’ return. In the meantime, I’m freaking out and really feeling a little sick from the Twinkies. puzzlecrop1.jpg
